Full tank of fuel, 15' runs great. Washed, put away for two weeks. Have friend launch while I park, he picks me up to ask if my boat planes off. WTF are you talking about? It won't! Runs up to about 1800 RPM, then just fouls out. Backed off, took 30 min. ride, no change. When returning, with wind at our backs, both agree we smell bad fuel.

Next trip, dump old fuel, remix fresh, load and go. Same crap. Go home, clean plugs, shoot carb cleaner thru and revs fine with no load. Go back, launch, same crap, haul out.

Take to shop, find water in cylinder #3. Replace head gasket (which had earliest sign of replacement). Fire up, sounds fine. Go home, launch, same crap, haul out. Back to shop. With mechanic, back to ramp, load test on trailer, seems carb problem. Rebuild all three. Same crap.

Voltage problem. Rev. limitor possibly bad in powerpack. Overnight new one (CDI). Comes with two wires reversed, switch to match original, install. Runs worse. Second mechanic arrives, finds color coded wires for cylinders #2 and 3 reversed coming out of pack. Place wrong wires on right cylinders, same crap. Replace with "original" pack and were heading to ramp to research a fuel problem when afternoon storm blows in. Test ride of Jersey Speedskiff scratched as well. Wonderful two days off from fire department. Any words of wisdom?
