Some people have asked for picturess of my 1990 Outrage 19's Yamaha digital Speedometer and Tachometer at wide open throttle.I have attached some to my picture page. Pictures were taken last Sunday in the confused seas at the mouth of the North river in Marshfield/Scituate MA: http://photos.yahoo.com/rundeep_32 While I realize this is not GPS, current corrected, moon phase absolute, it should give you guys a good idea of what a 115hp motor can do on this hull. Prop is a Yamaha SS "17-k". I don't know the diameter. And, yes, hole shot is also amazing. Apoligies in advance for the bad photos. I was really flying out there! Ed

The motor is a 1999 Yamaha 115.The boat's top speed was 44mph at 5,700 RPM. There is another picture showing the boat cruising at 28mph at 3,800 RPM. Ed |

Those are fine numbers for that combination Ed. I expect you're posting because you had some doubters, huh?I have been quite surprised by the performance of my 1990 Yamaha 130 on a 1990 Outrage - 19'. Running solo and light on gear and fuel, I achieved 46 mph on my digital speedo, forgot to catch the RPMs at that speed. The speedo has since been calibrated to read <1 mph higher than WAAS enabled GPS. That isn't stopping me from attempting to negotiate a new power plant in lieu of a portion of the fee from a large corporate client though... |

I can get 37mph (by gps in a lake) on my 22 outrage with just one of my pair of 1991 Yamaha 130s - which is the same engine as your 115 aside from some carb jets - so your mid 40s on a smaller boat makes sense to me.Plotman |
