This is for anybody wanting to re-power their Montauks, or maybe two for LHG's Outrage!

Ed'd Marine superstore has an April special price of $4,899.

I don't think I have seen them this cheap before. Also, I think they are not making this model any more.

Does this motor have the oil reservoir under the cowl?

I looked at eds marine superstore and there prices are good.
Found a better price on iboats.com under engines.
Found a new motor that i wanted which was a couple of hundred dollar less and also just made the cut off date for mercury promotion with 2 extra years of warrenty for a total of 5 years.

Thanks for the reply newt.

The Johnson 90 HP is only $100 more ($4,999) but uses a remote oil reservoir.

I recently attempted to buy a Merc 90 from Ed's. They will not ship Mercury motors. No problem to ship OMC and Yamaha, but not Merc.

Try Sundance Marine in Ft Lauderdale. Their pricing is as good as Ed's and they don't gouge you on shipping. These 100 HP 2-stroke 90's are going to be in short supply, as I think they are already out of production.

Iboats.com is currently showing new Merc 90's at $4700 and change.

Just bought a 90 Yamaha from Eds. Yes Controls, cables, props are extra with all outboards. I live in Va so I picked it up at Eds. Mers 90's were 4900 when I bought the Yamaha. So were the Johnsons. New yamaha is on my 87 Montauk

Got about 5 hrs on the motor as of today. Breaking in sorting out, then will be posting some info. I did take a trip of about 22 miles total and opened the motor up several times from a standing star (breaking in gas waster) I burned about 4 1/2 gallons for the 22 miles. Still on the 50-1 break in mix plus the oil injection.
