I just picked up this motor to rig my boss's 13' and the dealer gave me a 19 pitch prop. That seemed high to me but he insisted it was ok. Does anyone on the board run this set up? My boss usually has a light load or just his triplets run the boat (15 years old). I should be able to just exchange the prop after running the boat, but I thought I would ask the experts. Thanks for your time. Marty

Martman, On my 13' Super Sport, w/ 2000 40hp Johnson 2-stroke, I'm running a 15" aluminum for everyday use. I have a 17" SS for speed with a light load. My anti-vent plate is about 1-1.5 inches ABOVE the keel, so I get some higher revs as a trim out. Seems like a 19" is pretty steep. |
