Hi, here is a really simple question. What ratio of gas to oil should I run in an early 80's vintage Mercury 70hp outboard? I will primarily be using it at sea level. Also, should I only use mercury 2 stroke oil, or are other brands ok to use. Thanks. Jeff.

50:1 or 16oz oil to approximately 6gal of gasoline.

I think we may have established on here that any TCW-3 rated two-stroke oil is suitable.
