posted 07-10-2005 09:16 PM ET (US)         I am looking into getting a 4-6 hp aux motor on my new Montauk to do some lake fishing where there are horse power restrictions. The engine will only be on the boat when I fish those lakes and I will remove it when I'm either ocean fishing or on lakes where there are no restrictions. I've seen some posts about the pros and cons of this size engine in 4 stroke configurations causing lots of vibration. I am looking for some advise as to whether I should stick with an engine manufacturer that has two cylinders or get something like a Merc two stroke. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
