I was told my 1979 Merc 175HP has a 2.1 to 1 drive ratio.

I want to get a new propeller.

I do not want to buy five propellers in the effort to find the right one.

I am first debating between 3 blade or 4 blade propellers.

Then I must decide between aluminum versus steel.

Finally the size and pitch.

Are there any older model revenge or outrage owners with old 175 Mercs that want to share their favorite propellers they have used?

You will want to use a 19" pitch prop. Forget the 4 bladed aluminum - they are poor performers. The boat is fast enough that aluminum three blade would not give very good performance either. Your choices would be Vengeance (good all around performance and economy), Laser II (top speed), Vensura 4-blade (great all around performance with better hull lift), Revolution-4 (best all around performance including top speed). You can save a few bucks by using a Michigan wheel Rapture or Stiletto. With any of these, except the Vengeance, engine should be mounted in third set of bracket holes.

This powerhead rated, 2.0 liter 175 later became a prop rated 150. I am running same 150HP engine on my 21 Outrage
