lucas	posted 02-11-2006 05:42 PM ET (US)         [What is the recommended shaft length for twin motors mounted on a Whaler Drive?] Presently on my 1988 Boston Whaler 27 Full Cabin I have 25-inch shaft Yamaha motors. I found a deal on Evinrude motors with 30-inch shafts. Can I use these motors with a Whaler Drive? Thanks

jimh	posted 02-12-2006 08:49 AM ET (US)             The Whaler Drive is somewhat unusual. It is designed for 25-inch shaft outboard motors for both single and twin applications.
Peter	posted 02-12-2006 10:38 AM ET (US)             The Whaler Drive used on the 27 foot hull is different from the Whaler Drive used on the 22 and 25 foot hulls. Unlike the 22/25 WD, it is V shaped.
