[What is the recommended shaft length for twin motors mounted on a Whaler Drive?]

Presently on my 1988 Boston Whaler 27 Full Cabin I have 25-inch shaft Yamaha motors. I found a deal on Evinrude motors with 30-inch shafts. Can I use these motors with a Whaler Drive? Thanks

No, without a modification to give you five inches of elevation relative to the transom.

The Whaler Drive is somewhat unusual. It is designed for 25-inch shaft outboard motors for both single and twin applications.

The Whaler Drive used on the 27 foot hull is different from the Whaler Drive used on the 22 and 25 foot hulls. Unlike the 22/25 WD, it is V shaped.
