jmarlo	posted 03-22-2006 08:11 PM ET (US)         This is admittedly a trivial question, but I'll ask anyway. I prefer sphere shaped fenders versus cylindrical shaped fenders. My question is why are sphere shaped fenders so uncommon on smaller boats (under 30 feet)? For me they offer more protection and wear better. The downside is they are slightly more difficult to stow. Is there some "code among mariners" that shuns the use of sphere shaped fenders on smaller boats?
