I was told by BRP today that they were not yet shipping the 150-175 E-TEC motors to anyone aside from manufacturers, and they were due for general release in October. Is this really correct as I thought the 150's had been available for some time, but he was adamant. |

That information would seem to be incorrect. |

The 115's have shipped recently and the 150-175-200 E-TECs have been out and around for about a month now for repowers. When and to whom did you speak at BRP? Sounds more like "dealer talk". |

My local dealer has been installing 150-HP and 115-HP E-TEC motors on customer's boats for a month or so. Those engines were ordered some time ago, however. The information your dealer gave you may apply to an order placed today (June). The production schedule may be out several months, and an engine ordered today may take a while to be manufactured and delivered. In modern business a manufacturing operation may only build to order, and it may not have a warehouse full of product as might have been the norm a decade or two ago. |

Believe it or not, this information was not from a dealer but direct from BRP direct. I find it disappointing they can have such inaccurate and misleading information which he stuck by even when I questioned him. |

If you do not want to name the person, what was their title or "capacity" in BRP. A receptionist, salesman, an executive, product manager, tech support person, marketing manager, and a production foreman will all give different answers to an inquiry about when a motor will be shipped. |

I've had my 150 for 29 days.... However, my dealer is no longer taking orders as he cannot get anymore of them at this time.... Last time I checked, Ed's is not advertising them either (for whatever that is worth). Ed's has not responded to e-mail inquiries about the 150 E-TEC as well. Go figure.... |

From the email address in the United Kingdom domain, I infer that our original poster may be in Europe. Deliveries there may be on a different schedule than in North America. By the way, Bombardier just announced it was buying its European distributor and taking over its own distribution in Europe. ------Press Release Follows------ BRP Expands its Dealer Network in Europe From October 2006 on, BRP will distribute its products Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) is marking a new phase of its international development by reinforcing its presence in European markets. Starting in the fall, BRP will establish direct commercial operations in Spain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom and Ireland, where Jets Marivent has served as its distributor. The shareholders of Jets Marivent have agreed to sell the company to an affiliate of BRP and as of October 1, 2006, BRP will distribute its products directly through its own dealer network in the aforementioned countries. Until that date, BRP products will continue to be supported in these markets by Jets Marivent. Following BRP's decision to establish its own dealer network in France in 2005, this move constitutes the second phase of its European growth strategy. BRP has already established dealer networks in Canada, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Japan, France and Scandinavia and has been present in Europe for over 30 years, with manufacturing facilities in Austria (BRP-Rotax) and in Finland (BRP-Finland). Jets Marivent has been importing and marketing BRP products in Spain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom and Ireland since 1993. Over the years, they have greatly contributed to building strong brand equity for the BRP product brands in all their markets. "Along with our dealers and business partners, we built this business from the ground up, starting out with only two models of Sea-Doo personal watercraft (PWC) in Spain over 10 years ago, " said Oliver Frols, founder and president of Jets Marivent. "Today, Jets Marivent distributes the entire line-up of Sea-Doo PWC and sport boats, Can-Am ATVs, Evinrude and Johnson outboard engines and a wide variety of accessories. This would not have been possible without the experience and business support of our dealers, and BRP's excellent product innovation and continuous support," added Mr. Frols. This decision affects all Sea-Doo personal watercraft and sport boats, Can-Am all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), Evinrude and Johnson outboard engines, as well as related parts, accessories and clothing businesses. All BRP products will continue to be available in Spain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom and Ireland, thus reaffirming BRP's objective to offer its customers the ultimate motorized recreational experience. "Over time, we firmly believe that this decision will provide significant benefits to dealers and consumers in these markets, including increased efficiency in customer service and logistics support as well as branding, product positioning and market responsiveness," concluded Michel Hade, vice-president and general manager, BRP International Sales and Marketing. Both Jets Marivent and BRP are committed to ensuring a smooth transition to maximize continuity of business as usual for everyone involved. BRP, a privately-held company, is a world leader in the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and marketing of motorized recreational vehicles. Its portfolio of brands and products includes: Ski-Doo® and LynxTM snowmobiles, Sea-Doo® watercraft and sport boats, Johnson® and Evinrude® outboard engines, direct injection technologies such as Evinrude E-TEC®, Can-AmTM all-terrain vehicles, Rotax® engines and karts. ®, TM and the BRP logo are trademarks of Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. or its affiliates. |

Thanks for the clarification on the location of the inquires (Europe v. North America). I will check with my local Evinrude dealer next week and ask him about the current delivery situation. He has just returned from an Evinrude dealer meeting, and I am sure this topic was discussed. |
