I own a 1989 Whaler Outrage 18 with a 140-HP Evinrude. Our yacht club recently published a notice that they are selling E-10 gas with a 10-percent ethanol mixture. The notice comes with a warning that boats ten years or older should have their gas lines replaced. They also recommend contacting the boat's manufacturer to make sure the fuel tank is ethanol compliant or resistant.

Another concern is water in the boat tank. If there is more than 3/4-oz per gallon then the ethanol will phase out along with the octane level!

Does anyone have experience with these concerns? I am already having a lot of trouble getting the boat to start if it sits more that a week!
