Have any 1999 to 2001 Outrage 21's been re-powered with a Mercury Verado?

I believe that year Outrage 21 shares the same hull as my 2005 210 Ventura, which is powered by a 225 Verado. It is ample power, and is not too heavy for my hull. You would likely be very pleased with it. I hear the performance with the Revolution4 15-inch pitch propeller is fantastic on such applications.

Do you have a firm quotation for the rigging costs? Installation of the power steering might be an additional expense.

With Verados 135-275, you get what you pay for, and it's not for the bottom line shoppers. Price dumped Suzuki is for them (although 300 Suzukis now have DTS also and are getting pricey). DTS engine control is the best available. One has to decide personally if they think it's worth the extra cost. Same with the first class power steering on the 200-275's. One has to determine if it's worth the extra cost over conventional Teleflex. Some will think so, some will not, and go for Optimax instead.

I have a 2004 21 Outrage with a 200 Opti and love it, thought long and hard about the Verado but the were very new at the time. I have no regrets about my choice great performance mid 40’s fully loaded and get 3-4 MPG at 30-35. What I spend on oil per year is less then what it would me to get the oil changed at the end of the year.
Love the look of the Verado but don’t regret my choice.
