I have bought from one boat little used Boston Whaler Revenge 22 Whaler Drive ,with motor Mercury Optimax 220 but without propeller. According to you which propeller would be adapted? From 17 o from 15. The propellers quicksilver 15 or 17 are goods?
Thank's Maurizio Maschio

Maurizio,

Congratulations on your new boat and welcome to ContinuousWave.com.

You should read this article:

Understand that your OptiMax may not have the same gear ratio as Jim's Evinrude. Look in your owner's manual for this information. It will may change the pitch you need.

What year is your OptiMax 220? You can probably look that information up online.

I *think* the gear ratio of your motor is 1.75:1 which is different than Jim's Evinrude with a 1.86:1 ratio.

If this is true, then your propeller spins faster for any given engine spped (RPM) and thus you would necessarily choose a propeller with a lower pitch than Jim's boat uses, all other things be the same.

Try a Mercury MIRAGEplus three-blade with 15-inch pitch.

Well , i'll try a Mirageplus 3-blade wit 15 inch pitch. It Will not easy to find it, because here they use a lot the solas and quicksilver.

A Quicksilver Thunderbolt propeller is exactly the same propeller as a Mercury Mirage, just a different name.
