Our 1981 Outrage 22 has the motor on a bracket, avoiding some of the clearance problems [for trim tab installation]. Is Lenco or Bennett the prefered option for saltwater use? Does anyone have any experience with the new Volvo Penta QL trim tab system? http://www.qlmarine.com/ql.asp Thanks, Mike |

I have not seen any reports of an installation of the Volvo-Penta QL trim system on a classic Boston Whaler hull. |

I looked very seriously at the Volvo trim tabs, but their installation assumes that you have access to the inside of the transom where the tabs are mounted to to the hull, which, on a Whaler obviously isn't the case. They look like a neat product, but you can't run the control cables up the outside of the transom the way you can with Lencos or Bennetts. |
