I am upgrading my Boat trailer to tandem axles, I have purchased 27" springs, the tandem shackle kit that i purchased didn't come with instructions for the spacing of the shackle for welding. I can only find literature for
25 1/4" spings which state to make the center at 30 1/2", I am assuming that the 27" spring shackles should be spaced at 32" centers? am I right

It would be easier to purchase dual axle spring sliders. They have the spring purchases already welded on. All you have to do is position them and drill holes and bolt them on. I takes the guess work out of it. Plus if you find they need to be adjusted it is a simple job to move them (that's why they're called sliders).

What are spring sliders?

They are brackets that have the spring/shackle mounts welded on. They are made for single and tamdem xle trailers. They allow infinate placement and adjustment of your axles to fine tune your trailer tongue weight. I don't do links successfully but go to www.sturdybuiltonline.com, go to catalog, and then go to pg 24. See the top of the page.
