[What is the procedure for preparing] a Mercury Optimax 200-HP [for lay-up]? What all do I do with that? Thank you.

[An historical narrative of procedures used by the author to prepare non-OptiMax motors for lay-up was included in his inquiry.]

Have you checked the owner's manual? Many brands have detailed instructions on lay-up and storage with diagrams.

If you don't have a manual, it is worth the money.

Although the author included a narrative of the procedures he had used when preparing outboard motors with a carburetor for long lay-up, I much prefer to refer readers to the very comprehensive and well-researched procedure published in the REFERENCE section in
