Thanks Texas- I had some time and found that to be an interesting read! BTW-From what I remember LHG is a regular on that forum so I'm sure he probably saw it!
BRP does NOT have a racing division and the word is that they are not planning to have one, which I think is good for regular consumers.
Overall, I think those guys were civil to each other and did not go into advertising posts!

Executive summary: The new E-TEC 250 H.O. won some race, but the Mercury contingent says they cheated.
Did I miss anything?

You did not miss anything.
The Merc contingent was crying foul, simply because they're 250XS got spanked by the 250HO.
One of the guys on that forum summed it up best:
"It appears the 250HO is delivering on it's promises. This is the first time in a long time the pressure has been on the black engines to perform - this should be good for the sport."
