I have a 1988 Revenge 22 W-T WD and am looking to buy a new prop for the original Johnson 225 VRO. Does anybody have any recommendations? |

Nick's suggestions are good. I have been using three propellers: --OMC SST 15-inch pitch --OMC SST 17-inch pitch --Mercury MIRAGEplus 17-inch pitch depending on the load on the boat and the sea state. For heavy loads and high seas, I use the 15-inch SST. It has been a good propeller but the fuel economy is not very good. For higher loads and calmer seas, I use the 17-inch pitch propellers. The MIRAGEplus gives the best fuel economy at 25 to 27-MPH cruise, but it does not allow much trim out and tends to ventilate in any kind of seaway. |

Jim - Any bets that the Merc Mirage Plus 17" has the HIGHEST EFFICIENCY rating of the three? |
