Has anyone [rigged a Boston Whaler 15-footer with an Evinrude E-TEC 75 or 90-HP motor] yet? I would like to see how [a Boston Whaler 15-foot hull] sits in the water [when rigged with an E-TEC 75 or 90]. I am very close to buying the 90 and just looking for a picture to see how it looks on the boat. So a 75 or 90 would look the same, a picture of either would help.

Thanks,
Len

Member "Roswell" has the 75hp model on his 15' Sport. We exchanged emails a while back just after his boat was repainted and re-rigged. He lists his picture account in his member profile so I don't think he'd mind if I linked it here.

Len,

Alex from Germany has a 75-ETEC on his 15-ft Alert.

Thanks guys.

Eric, is that as far as the motor will tilt up? Or can you get it out of the water at rest?

I guess I missed the HP rating with the 70, silly mistake.

Len, I'm not sure but I think it will trim up a bit higher. Note that the boat is also pulled up on shore a bit making the stern sit a bit deeper in the water. Maybe Alex can chime in here if he's lurking.

Len...you will run a plate so it will be higher and also you keep it on the lift so WHO CARES MAN!

Like i have said many times I was on a 15 with a 115 ocean runner and she rode, sat, handled, just fine. I think the 90 etec is about 20lbs lighter.

Was the 115 ocean runner loop charged? I think it was and if so I would say at least 20 pounds. Go with the 90 and post some numbers :)

They only made OMC Ocean Runner/Pro's Loop charged...60 degree for V4 90/115(OIS) and 150/175 V6(OIS), and 90 for V4 130 & V6 200+. The V8's were all Looped charged as well.
