I'm curently looking an '87 18 Outrage with no motor or trailer. I'm currently running a 115hp Evinrude Ficht 25 inch shaft on my '69 Nauset. I have the motor ready to hang on it. This motor is a much better fit then on a Nauset

Considering it is a 25" shaft, that alone makes it a better fit than on your 20" transom Nauset.

If you are "happy" with the performance of a 115 hp motor on your Nauset, you are very likely to be "unhappy" with the performance on an 18' Outrage.

It will perform like a dog in comparison.

That said, when propped right, a 115 hp motor should be adequate on the Outrage, but it will not be a peak performer.

This should also be taken into consideration after you figure out if your current motor is too long for the Nauset or too short for the Outrage.

Finally, if you do in fact have a 25 inch 115, you will likely need to invest in a different, lower pitch propeller for the Outrage application.
