I have/had (just re-powered w/ twin 250's) a 2500 w/ twin 1994 Yamaha 225's. I was very satisfied with the overall performance. I was able to hit 57 MPH, cruised comfortably at 40 at just under 4,000 rpm's. The 94's were a bit thirsty, and let me down only once in 10 years (threw a rod 3 years ago for unknown reason; new powerhead installed and runs good). I got a deal on the a pair of EFI 250's, so I decided to upgrade a bit.Provided your motors have been well maintained, you should be happy with the set-up. Although a classic whaler hull, it is anything but a classic whaler. It has been a great all around family boat for me-cruise, ski (bring a helmet), tube (helmit also), fish, crab, etc. My kids love the cabin. With counter-rotating twins, manuvering is a breeze. Good Luck! |
