If you have upgraded or replaced your existing NFB steering sytem did it eliminate your excessive play. I have an old NFB and the steering is really hard in one direction while sitting still and tons of play in the wheel. I did a search and read a lot on hydraulic etc...Those of you that did not cross over to the hydraulic side, did you eliminate your play in the wheel. I would love to have steering in both directions as nice as it is in one direction right now.
Thanks

I am considering the same issue. If upgrading rigging over the winter - Jackplate, Prop, and replace old steering (1987) what is has been members experience going with Baystar on a 15.

Thanks

For the past two years I've had the NFB sterring on my 13' Super Sport with little or no play. Nice, smooth steering that is far better than the older original system that was binding and "clunked" when turning the wheel.
This year I added a "Steersman Nut" with grease fitting that has been awesome in keeping everything clean, easy and trouble free.
This is all through the tilt tube of a 2000 40 hp Johnson 2-stroke.
My wife and daughters really appreciate the new system.
