[For powering a Boston Whaler 13-footer the author says he ] might be interested in a 2006 Honda 40-HP to replace my near mint 1994 40hp Evinrude. [The author] would like to know if anyone has this combo. What do you think overall? How does it perform? What propeller are you running? [The author] just want to know some tidbits because it is not a cheap upgrade, and, again, my 1994 runs and looks flawless for the most part. I am just a stickler for [four-cycle outboard motors], and I am never selling this boat. With the economy as it is, [this] might be a good time to buy.

Just installed the Johnson/Suzuki 40hp yesterday. Looks and sounds great. Will get some performance numbers when I actually splash it. |

PS...I[the author] am not a stickler for 4 cycle outboards because I[the author]have never owned one. I[the author] am a stickler for 4 stroke outboards which all 4 that I[the author] have owned have clearly stated on the outside of the cowling and on the front of the owners manual. Also in reading both the sales brochure and owner's manual(s) I[the author] can verify that the term 4 cycle has never been written in either publication. In the future I[the author] would appreciate Jim[the site owner] to not edit my posts with fictional information about my Suzuki outboards. |

Ran the engine on the muffs last night for about 40 minutes, no problems whatsoever. As soon as it warms up a tad and the wind stops howling, I will give her a test run. |
