This is not a question about my Whaler, but I hope I can get some information. I have a boat with twin 454 GM blocks. I put the boat in the water three weeks ago and ran nine miles and returned to my slip. I started the boat up this weekend and I could not get one engine to hold at idle. Over 1,500-RPM it seemed to be fine. I changed the fuel filter; it was clean with no water. The only work I did since the first water test was to change the plugs. I changed [one plug] at a time and replaced them correctly. I also ran the generator which has a crossover tank but is not run off the same tank of the engine that will not hold speed. Give me an idea of where to start the trouble shooting process. How far to go before going to a repair facility?
Thanks for any help

It sounds like you have 3 fuel tanks,, one for each motor and one for the generator,,have you fueled up only the motor and generator tanks lately? If that is the case try running a hose from the tank not re-fueled and run the generator from the un-contaminated tank ,, if it runs fine you know you have a fuel prob ,,If you have but one tank than you have a lot of water trapped in the baffle area where the pickups are located for the generator and poor running motor
