This past weekend I found that I've had a kink in my fuel line between my tank and filter. My engine would run at WOT then very gradually lose RPMs at cruise, usually over several minutes and at RPMs over 4K. I attributed this pesky problem to a loose throttle that was gradually backing off due to wave action and vibration. Now I'm thinking that it was fuel starvation. What do you think?

Replace the fuel line and run the boat, then you will know. You need to replace that fuel line anyway, even if you have a loose throttle. Its hard to make a determination from here, without knowing how bad was the kink, and what the diameter of the line is.

I had the same exact problem when I got my new engine. The same symptoms as yours showed up on my new engine.
I replaced all my fuel lines and made sure they were run with no acute turns. Runs great!
