I have a 40 hp Johnson Tiller steering and it pulls really bad to the right at full throttle. Does anyone know what the problem could be? and how to fix it? |

Simple, adjust the zinc fin under the cavitation plate the opposite way. rich/Binkie |

No, move the trim tab in the direction of the pull, not away from it. Adjustment of the trim tab is described in the Boston Whaler Owner's Manual: http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/manual9-17/operations. html#trimTab |

Tom is correct and on a 40 Johnson it is not zinc. |

You're a funny guy binkie. Did you think this guy was a nascar boater and needed to be in a constant right turn? |

I have a 40 tiller with power t/t on my 13. Pulls badly left when trimmed all the way down with too much throttle. I never tried adjusting the fin I just trim up. If you often haul (trailer) your rig, maybe adjust up one hole, and perhaps the boat will run better and pull less. |

Project...if trimming up fixes your situation then you are trimmed in too far. You should ALWAYS trim out until you get a neutral steering feel unless you need to be trimmed in that far for some reason like big seas, etc. |

TA, boat racers only turn left, not right. My raceboat is set up to only turn left. Its the boat bottom, has nothing to do with the motor. Right turns could be hazardous to your health. BTW my post was not wrong. He didn`t say how his fin was set up. If it was making the boat turn right, it would need to go the other way. It also may be something else. rich/Binkie |
