What do you use to fog a 2002 Yamaha F60 four-cycle engine at the end of the season? How is it done? Is there any special additives that I should add to my six gallon fuel tank during the season to maybe alleviate this cleaning problem? Thanks in advance to everyone for all the HELP you've been giving me. |

Generally the owner's manual of your outboard motor will provide a procedure for preparing the engine for a long layup. I would consult those recommendations as the primary source of advice. Yamaha makes all their manuals available on-line. If you don't have the manual you can read it on-line from the Yamaha website. Since your fuel tank is small and probably a portable tank, I would just pour out any fuel remaining in the tank. Use the fuel in your vehicle or other gasoline engine. If you want to store the fuel, add fuel stabilizer. |

The owners manual can be found here: While it says, F50, the manual is the same for the F60. http://www.yamaha-motor/assets/service/manuals/2002/LIT-18626-04-72_536. pdf In the chapter on maintenance, (Section 4, page 5) there is a subsection on long term storage. As for fuel, I recommend using Stabil or similar product that helps deter phase separation (due to the ethanol in E-10 fuel) with every tank. |
