Forgetting the material the propeller is made of for a moment, by far the most important propeller [dimension] for you in reaching top speed will be choosing the right propeller pitch. Your top speed will occur at the propeller pitch that allows the motor to reach its peak power RPM with the throttle wide open. If you choose a propeller that's too coarse, you will not be able to reach peak power RPM at full throttle without removing weight.Stainless propellers can be made thinner than aluminum or composite, and thus have a slight efficiency advantage. But this advantage is mostly icing on the cake. Worth maybe 1-MPH or less in a 40-MPH class boat. The real advantage is in choosing the right pitch. -Peter |
