It's early, and I can not sleep! Assuming I want to re-power my new-to-me Revenge 20 this off-season or next, can you list for me perhaps your top three motors you would look at, considering noise, reliability, and cost. And for the very few of you who think I trade and make moves too often, of course your opinion is not valid (this means you Jim, Jeff, Nick, Tom, David, Lawrence, Steve, Joe, Rick, Laura, ray, Arnold, Joseph, John, Ed, Ed junior, Joe junior, Aswath, Charlie, Barack, Jeffrey, Simba, Larry, Rocko, Enzo, Vincenzo, and Henry the Yid).

Sal--You seemed to like the E-TEC you put on the Montauk. Why not go with the 200 HP E-TEC. The weight is around 430 pounds, so there would be no concerns there.Andy Gere has one on his 22 Outrage Cuddy and his boat will hit 40 MPH. I know you are not a speed demon, so those numbers should be fine for the boating you do. I have a 225 HP Mercury Optimax on my 22 Outrage Cuddy, and the boat handles the weight just fine. I got the boat up to 42 MPH yesterday, but I was unable to get to completely WOT, given the conditions. That is fast enough for me. A 200-HP Optimax will weigh about 505 pounds. The Revenge with the full splashwell should handle the weight without any concerns. I have always been partial to Yamaha's, but they will weigh more. Too bad you did not buy a 25 Revenge. I would have bought it from you after you repowered. Dan |
