I'm confused about 20" v 25" shaft length. What is the appropriate length for a 74 Revenge? |

It is not confusing at all, 20" is what you need. By the way, you might want to mention which 1974 Revenge you have. There were more two, 19' and 21', though they both used 20" shaft length motors. |

Thanks TWC, I have a 21 but glad to have you confirm it's a 20" shaft that I need to shop for. |

I should also mention that these hulls used 20" engines for both single and twin installations, somewhat unusual in more recent boats. For twins, a 20" engine has to be installed all the way up in the fifth bolt hole, as shown here: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v429/lgoltz/Outrage%2021/?action=view& current=Scan_Pic0015.jpg A higher HP single can be installed in the 3rd bolt holes, if higher performance prop is used. |
