Right now I have 19 pitch aluminum prop. I think the dia. is 13 1/2". My motor has the larger gear case like the V4's. I need a little more power when pulling my daughter out of the water with 1 ski. I can get her up but it takes a bit. With me alone at WOT, I top out at 5300 RPMs. The full throttle operating range is 5000 to 6000 rpm according to my service manual.

Also, I experience some cavitation in the tight turns so I'm thinking a SS prop might reduce this.

On Kijiji, I found a SS propeller Ballistic Attwood 13 1/2 x 17 for $150. Would this be a good prop for my boat or should I be looking for something else?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

I'd pass on the Ballistic.

Look for a good used OMC SST 17" or a 13-1/4" x 15" Stiletto Advantage.

19" inch pitch is way too high, as shown by being 700rpm below max. If you are doing primarily water sports, I'd definitely go with the 15" pitch. (rule of thumb is about 200rpm per inch), in theory with light load you could exceed
the max rpm, so just back off the throttle. but the extra grunt for towing will be well worth it.

Tom, thanks for advice on that. goldstem, good point. I might try to swap my 19 for a 17 aluminum as a starting point and see how it performs.

I just wanted to report back that I found a used OMC SST 17 pitch prop and it works great for my setup. My rpm's are now at 5900 with me alone and around 5500 with 2 adults and 2 kids on board (The full throttle operating range is 5000 to 6000 rpm according to my service manual). I can now get my daughter up with no problems on 1 ski and the SST prop holds better in the corners when pulling the kids tubing. I'm not sure what the top speed is but overall it feels a little faster. Tom, thanks again for the advice.
