I was going through my pictures on my phone and forgot that I took a video of my boat this past summer. The video isn't that good but I thought I would share the video. Some of you might appreciate it especially since most of aren't boating during the winter. I really need to get a camera mount. Its a little too squirmy at the top end to be driving, triming the motor out and using my iphone to shoot video. http://s202.beta.photobucket.com/user/sytydave/media/Boston%20Whaler/22C174C2-E766-4FEE-812F-8F6754290753-16473-000015363E7267BD_zps8d220e01.mp4.html I probably started off at 30mph and accelerated to near top speed. I couldn't keep the camera steady but it really start chines walking above 6200 RPM. If you pause the video at the tach, the tach read 6300 rpm. Its not quite 48mph. My GPS which displays whole numbers reads 47 at 6200 rpm and 48 at 6350rpm. I really need a little more pitch on my prop. My boat is a 89 15' SS with a 1989 Evinrude 60hp with 70hp Carbs, 5" set back jackplate, and 13 1/4 x 19P Stilleto prop. |

Interesting four blade prop. Haven't tried that. What year is that engine? Is it a carbed 4S? Reason I ask is I do not see any jack plate and the scum line on transom seems very high. Where is the fuel tank and how much are you carrying? Nice performance numbers and she seems quiet. zot. |

Obviously you were looking at my other pictures. Those are when I first bought my boat in 2010. It had a 4 blade composite prop and no jack plate. The scum line is that high from pulling it out of the water. I had gone to a local lake that had an invasive plant issues. Gas tank is in the rear. I am probably had close to 12 gallons of gas at that time. The motor is louder in person than in the video, I was kind of surprised how quiet it sounds in the video. If you listen carefully at the end of the video, it seems like I can hear the prop when I have the motor trimmed out. It just an old 2 stroke, see the last sentence of my first post. |
