Great pictures! I have always liked the older pre-montauk 16' hulls, and it is great to see these older boats really taking on the rough water. I'd like to see a shot of the motor setup on this particular boat - with the twin Yamahas....

Matt, I have a 1973 `16 Currituck and have some nice pictures of it that I can e-mail you or any one that wants to see it. My e-mail address is whalernut@libcom.com Jim won`t post my boat on the Cetacea, because he sais it needs rubbed out! I have seen many pictures on the Cetacea, and some are very nice and some are you`re average condition Whaler. Anyone that I send pictures to I would like feedback on the condition and if you think they are worth posting? Regards-Jack Graner.

Jack!

Are you kidding me? I have been wondering when you were going to send some pictures of that old Whaler of yours.

Come on, Jack old boy, send some pictures and I'll put you to the head of the line for next week's CETACEA top-page!

Yes, it would be nice to have a picture of a Currituck in the reference section also. I've looking around for a picture of a Currituck or a Sport 17, and those boats are hard to find.

Jim, are you beeing serious. I thought Kingfish(John) sent you pictures of the Currituck already? He told me he did. If you want I can e-mail them to you, that would be fine. I thought you said it needed rubbed out, before you would post them. I must be starting to see and hear things, Ah-Oh. Larry, I can`t tell you how long I have been looking for a `16/`17 Currituck-Sport. I am extra glad I found a Currrituck though, I love the old hull design, and to boot it is a 73`, which meens it has the newer rubrail and the dessert tan gelcoat. Please respond-Jack Graner.

Jack -

I'd definitely like to see some shots of your boat - sounds like jim is willing to post them. I was able to ID a Sakonett (sp?) for sale in Kennebunkport, ME a few weeks back because of the picture in the reference section of this site. A shot of a Currituck is definitely needed!

On a side note, I was heading down my street the other day, and three houses down was a 16' whaler in the driveway - he must have just got the old girl out for spring - Not sure what model it is, because it has been modified slightly (it has the wood console, but there has been a smoked plastic windshield added with grabrail - and the seat looks wood, but modified as well...) If I see the guy out and about, I plan on telling him about this site - maybe he will want to submit some pics, too!

Matt, I sent the pictures of the Currituck to Jim. I hope you like it. I am very proud of her. God knows I have been looking for over 3 years to find a Currrituck/Sport. I am going to continue to buy the old Whaler hulled boats as long as the funds are there. I misss my 1971 `13 Sport and on the trail for a Whaler close to that year. I like the blue interior and the full length transom. So I am looking for one like that, and then possibly-hopefully a Nausett/Eastport! Regards-Jack Graner.
