Jim: Great Job, and as you say, it IS a ROGUE'S Gallery!1. Bill - Nice Montauk, with a pretty big fish for such a small boat! Until I read down, I just assumed the Hammerhead was dead! I can't believe you'd hold a live one like that, or do you have a death wish!! You ARE a fisherman! Send us a picture of your new boat, and maybe Jim will feature the new ones some week. 2. Don: Great boat and great scenery. I can now confirm that, indeed, I ran into your boat at a Rendezvous sometime after you had sold it. It's the only Revenge Cuddy I've ever seen. Who's that young guy driving? Will I recognize you when I see you up North? 3. Clark and Tom - Finally, it's good to see a mug shot of you old salts! I didn't realize you were old friends. The only person missing in that picture is Jim! I'm sorry you guys won't be able to make the North Channel get-together. 4. Walt - Love that 25 Revenge Walk-thru. Always thought it was the Revenge line's finest moment. Looking forward to meeting you up North, seeing your boat, and talking trailer tires with you! 5. Jack - Don't let Jim give you a hard time! But I love the way he super-imposed your picture behind the boat!!!! Great boat, incidentally. It looks much better than the way you had described it! All it needs is a Stainless wheel. I'd say you found a good one. Michigan is great hunting territory for used Whalers. Add a CMI original bow rail to the boat, which really enhances stand up fishability in the bow. And I think Jim's name for your boat is is pretty good!

Larry, that is extremely funny what Jim did to the picture! The guy behind the boat isn`t me, but is funny anyway. I`m not that old or have as big of beard! I`m only 31. The Rockland, Mass. forever is also not on the boat but is a great touch! As most people know I am a pre-90` Whaler only enthusiest. Larry, I do want to add a stainless destroyer wheel to the boat. Do you know which size is best. The original plastic wheel is 14inches and I would like a little larger. I think the 15in. model with the rubber coating? I am adding Interlux Micron CSC bottom paint or their new Micron Extra with Biolux? I took the Rubbermaid action packer out already and filled the holes, and took the two 6 gallon gas cans out from under the seat and filled the holes from the strap retainers. I am going to put in a 17.5 gallon plastic Tempo gas can in. I am ordering as we speak a Mills mooring cover! I can`t wait for that one. I am looking to put a 60-70 h.p. engine on for all around use. It trolls slower, and is lighter, and more fuel efficient. I am going to redo the Mahogany. I am putting in a Rule 500GPH Automatic bilge pump. I am putting a Binacle Morse throttle control on the top of the console, I just love those. It already has a fish finder. I am going to get a handheld GPS and VHF. Probably do more, but running out of breath and money! Thanks and Regards-Jack Graner. |

Glad you can take a joke, Jack! You've been giving Jim and Brunswick so much grief lately, that he had to get even with you! Sounds like your boat will be even nicer when you get it fixed up. You're right on the money with that underseat long low gas tank. I think we should have a contest here to think up a boat name for you! But it seems a shame to put bottom paint on a nice hull like that. I would not do it unless you definitely are going to moor it over the entire summer. Putting paint on a boat like that will probably decrease it's overall appeal. Many people who do moor all summer simply pull the boat out every 3 weeks or so and clean up the bottom regularly. That's what I would do if you can. |

OK, I confess, I did doctor up that picture a little...I posted a couple of more, showing more detail of the Currituck, and also of the old Whaler himelf in closeup. And finally, I posted a real a shot of Jack! The old whaling fellow comes from a book I have of reprints of YANKEE magazine stories, many about whaling. That was quite a way to earn ones living! --jimh

Larry, I am fighting with myself over the bottom paint issue. I may try that new algae fighting wax first. If that doesn`t work, then at least black bottom paint is kind of appealling. I do dock all summer and fall. My dock is in a lagoon and in very shallow water and gets very slimy! Jim, maybee I should call the boat Old Fashioned. I`ll keep you posted on the bottom paint delema and all of the projects. Regards-Jack Graner. P.S. Jim, On the home page you forgot to change the Cetecea heading, it still sais Cetacea pictures of 6-13-00. Thanks-JACK. |

Larry, Thanks for the nice comments. There are times I really miss the Montauk. Lots of good times and big fish enjoyed from that boat. I don't often take pictures and only got that one thanks to the help of another boat that watched the fight. There really wasn't much danger as the shark was very tired, it took us a fair amount of time to revive the shark. Come fish with me if you ever make it to the Gulf Coast. (don't worry we won't take a picture of you in a "euro" style Whaler) '<grin>' |

Larry if you go for the Guardian "Offshore" 27 (as you mentioned "might" be in the cards)you'll I bet either have to keep her up on the Lake or down in Florida --- the quotes I received for transporting Amy's Whaler averaged $3000 to NJ from Daytona --- with the 10 foot beam you have to have permits in every state you go through or risk some heavy fines! So getting back to the Midwest stomping grounds of my youth with our 27 will have to be on an extended cruise up through the NY canal system --- would love to join the party but just ain't in the cards --- Tom |

Jack, I thought you said that the boat was just in ok condition. Looks like it is pretty mint to me...by the way, if you can, stick to the no bottom paint look. That stuff is such a pain. Everytime you beach the boat (I know beaching the boat is a no no) or put it on the trailer the stuff just wipes right off. Yuck!!! -Dave |

Everything Larry said, PLUS:Jack - Congratulations, the pictures look great! And, I applaud your sense of humor (and Jim's sense of humor for dreaming up the rib in the first place). I enjoy the forum most when the contributors are having fun with each other while passing information around. No charge. JCF |

Jack, Great looking boat! Not at all what I expected from your past comments. BTW I'd go with the 15" steering wheel. Steve |

Thanks guys for the great comments on the Currituck, I really appreciate it! I think I will try the alge wax first. I leave the boat in a dock though for over 6 months at a time and am worried about all that slime! But will try the wax and monitor the hull slime. I would never think of beaching her, I think I would have a stroke. As for the trailer, it would just be on one for about 4-5 months and rarely on and off one. Thanks again-Jack Graner. |

The 15inch wheel sounds great. Should I use a 5spoke or a 6spoke? Regards-Jack Graner. |
