Some additional comments:

The Outrage-18 with the tuna tower: a great demonstration of the stability of the Whaler hull. The weight of two teenaged boys that far aloft would easily capsize most 18-footers.

The 16-Sakonnet with original 4-stroke: boy was Dick Fisher ahead of his time. And that boat looks like new, too. It would be interesting to compare the weight of the F-P/Homelite engines to today's 50 HP 4-strokers.

The 1970 Sakonnet is a beauty, truly original in almost every respect. I have previously mentioned a website devoted to these early Whaler 4 cycle outboards. The author indicates that in every respect, their performance similar to the current Merc 50HP 4 stroke. For those interested, the site is worth visiting. Search the forum for the address.
