Just thought that April's poll might want to be replaced. I have a few ideas.

How about "Should we allow attachments on the forums"? |

Bigshot, I agree a new Poll would be nice. I like reading all of the answers and responding! Regards-Jack Graner. |

Attachments...bah humbug! Attachments equal viruses. |

If you want to send an attachment to someone, e.mail them. The Forum is fast, clean, uncluttered. I would give my opinion to Jim to not allow them. Tsuriki |

What it there was a forum section, say "member's photos" or something. Only posts to that section would allow attachments, the rest of the site would not. Perhaps we can have our cake and eat it to? then we could vote on the photos to be put into Cetacea, and since we would all get instant gratification from the pics (and what man doesn't want that, I ask you?) the quantity would go up. Competition would increase quality. We could take pictures of the most common repairs, and post them in the refrence section. It would be great. Of course, competition to get the best pic on the site could create a digital arms race amoung memebers. In a few years, this would be a photography forum. Your call, but I think its worth the risk... |

Virus my eye on a forum through attachments. I agree on attachments especially in the market place. Why should i e-mail pics to 10 people? Goo to boatdoctor.com and ask Walt how to set it up and virus risk, he'll tell ya! |

What about making your own web page, Lots of places will give it to you free, and then you can post your own pics there. You could then post a link to your photo page and save Jim the headache of maintaining another page, memory requirements, format probs etc. NWFlyfisher set up one for us in the PNW including a pic area. Jim has provided us with a great site, lots of pages, and WITHOUT annoing(sp?) advertisments. Lets think about Jim a bit. JMO Tsuriki |

As one who has been on this forum from day 1 and was and still am grateful to Jim for starting it up to replace it's predecessor, I maintain that this is Jim's forum to do with as he wants. If he is interested in doing even more work and wants to poll what additional features would be of interest, that is his decision. Let's not put presuure on Jim to do any more than he already does for all of us. |

Amen, Tom - I have also been here since the beginning and I for one can't get past the notion that when I am a guest in someone's home, it is inappropriate to tell the host that he should add an ice-maker to his refrigerator so it is easier for me to cool my drinks, unless and until the host asks my opinion on the subject. From the "faq" at the top of each forum page, "Attaching Files For security reasons, you may not attach files to any posts. You may cut and paste text into your post, however, or use HTML and/or UBB Code (if enabled) to provide hyperlinks to outside documents. "
