It was a very nice review today. My own pet minor Cetacean felt all warm and fuzzy when she saw the pictures of her cousins. She felt a little sorry for the the one trapped in the North Woods and hopes it will find a home soon. She was particularly empathetic about the condition of the wood. She had hers painted (rough weather in the Rockies) and feels much better now. (She has nearly gotten over not having 8 coats of varnish, and things the paint will be much more durable give the high UV in this area).

It was a big day for her in another way. When she was at Boyd Lake (about 1700 acres in Northern Colorado) today, she saw 4 other Whalers (2 Outrages, 1 Montauk, and 1 Sport 13). She had never seen so much family in one place since she was a baby.

Besides owning a 13 ft Whaler i own a 1927 Herreshoff S boat and keep track of ones that are still around The wooden boat in the backround looks a lot like an S boat picture 42-3 could you identify the boat or the harbour the picture was taken?

As quoted in the article:

"These pictures were taken in East Bay in Osterville, MA. during an awesome father and son outing!."

Rick,

The boat in the background of 43-2 is a Wianno Senior. Originally designed by H. Manley Crosby of Crosby Boat Yard in Osterville Ma, it is a fantastic day sailor with a LOA of 25 feet, 8 foot beam and a retractable centerboard that can allow you to skip over shoals which are very common off the MA coast.
