posted 09-07-2005 11:30 AM ET (US) Has anyone used a maintenance charger on a dual engine/dual battery setup? I was curious if, in the 2-3 months my boat is out of water, such a maintenance charge would keep the batteries condition. It's a real pain to get them in and out of a Conquest transom.

Get two chargers or one charge made to handle two batteries.
It's not good to leave lead acid batteries paralled long term.

I had a battery combiner on my 31' trawler. It put the two banks of batteries together when the charger was on, and seperated them when it wasn't (so you never ran your start battery dead while at anchor). It worked great until the boat next door exploded and took my boat with it.
