PeteB88	posted 09-30-2005 01:56 AM ET (US)         We just got a sweet late 70s 13 with 1992 Yam 40. I am wondering if I should install an main power switch on this boat? It has two pull switches on the dash - nav lights and bilge, fish finder direct wired to terminal block, tilt on throttle. I guess the system is always hot. Should I install a shut off for the main power buss? Where is best to locate it? thanks

jimh	posted 09-30-2005 10:25 AM ET (US)             The best place to locate a battery main disconnect is as close to the battery as possible. This prevents long runs of unprotected high-current capacity cable.
