With the new upgrade on Garmin's weather they have added a new feature that is really worthwhile. Today is a nasty day here in Suth Florida with fast moving Thunderstorms moving across the peninsula. I just fired up the Garmin [GPS Receiver and graphic chartplotter] and, after acquiring the XM-Satellite subscription weather broadcast signal, a huge Red bar and alarm goes off and says 'MARINE WEATHER WARNING" Going to the weather tab [on the display] shows a marine bulletin. Talk about the fast moving storm scheduled for the coast of Broward and Palm Beach counties thru 4:30 pm. Very cool.

Glen
Does the storm moving through look like it would on the Weather Channel radar?

It sounds like the GARMIN unit must deduce the appropriate SANE or FID for your location, then check for any appropriate warnings for that SANE or FID.
