These are some screen images of [2D/3D charts]. The new technology is moving at a fast pace.

Your GPS and 2D/3D bottom contour charts can be programed to show you exactly the areas that you want to fish. The ones below show an area of deep canyons with shallows and islands. The charts are set up to show areas of 100- to 120-feet depth. By using the colors you can target those areas. The 3D window can be zoomed and rotated on a multi-axis scheme. You can enter waypoints in the 2D window and they will displayed in the 3D window. (The third picture shows this.) This is one of the value-added items in the new 3D Charts that are on the market.

Click on the link to view images. There are two arrows at the top left and right on the Phanfare window. Use the right error to advance the images. Thanks

3D is "just" contour lines.

But there's getting to be some great detail. For some areas
in central california, there's data available that's 1'
resolution vertically, 2m (6') horizontally.
