SystemCheck Alarm Indicator: Interpreting Alarms

I have an Evinrude E50PL4SI four-stroke outboard. It has around 50 hours on the clock. It has the combined tachometer and SystemCheck alarm indicator. Last trip out, apparently the boat went fine on the way out, but ran rough on the way back. I have just started it up, and the check engine light comes on almost immediately after starting. If the ignition is turned on, the four lights light up, then go off, then the check engine light flashes in cycle of two flashes, then three flashes, then all repeated. Where can I find a list of the error codes for the SystemCheck engine monitor? I know I could take the boat to the dealer, only it is an 8-hour round trip each way. --Thanks

The owner's manual ought to explain the SystemCheck indicator.
If the four-stroke system behaves like the two-stroke, each time the ignition key is turned from OFF to RUN, the four indicators will illluminate and flash once as a check on the proper operation of the gauge. Then they should all go out.
I don't have a four-stroke, but on my two-stroke Evinrude the CHECK ENGINE alarm is set whenever there is a high vacuum condition in the fuel supply line. This indicates an obstruction in the fuel supply to the motor.
Again, the owner's manual ought to explain this.

I agree that the owners manual should explain the system check light better than it does. It has one page on the system, which describes how it should self test, and the function of the no oil light and hot light. There is no mention of the check engine light or the low oil light but these show up in the picture. All it says is that if the lights do not self test as described, then take it to a dealer!
When I turn on the ignition and wait for the check, it does this then the eng chk light flashes what I assume to be error codes.
If anyone has access to the engine check error codes I would appreciate a list of them, thanks.
Also, does anyone know if the software and laptop that are advertised here
would suit this engine?
