Which is the best splice for 3 wires. I jerked out my 2 year old trailer wires. The Ancor shrink wrap butt connectors had been used. They had put 2 of the three wires into one end of the butt connector and one wire in the other end. I wondered whether saltwater could leak into it. So I plied open the old connector and found much corrosion and rust.

In order to splice three wires, I think a better choices is the DryConn Waterproof Connectors p/n 10600, made by King Innovation. Its a wing nut filled up a special silicone.

My solution would be to splice in a dry place. By and by
I'm going to rewire my trailer, and there will be several big
splices (Up to 8 wires in) tucked up under the winch stand.
I will be solder, put a plastic cap over the splice, and then
a six inch piece of glue lined heat shrink. All wires will
run down hill from the splice..

The only splices aft of the winch stand will be two wires
only, to attach the lights to the wire loom. Solders,
hot melt glue lined heat shrink.

All wire will be Ancor marine grade.
