I just noticed this recent addition on the NMEA organization list of certified products.
This is somewhat of a curious announcement. The SUZUKI engines themselves are not listed as being NMEA-2000 certified devices. Perhaps the Suzuki motors are NOT NMEA-2000 compliant, but Lowrance has figured out how to interface to them and convert the Suzuki data into NMEA-2000 compliant data.
Looking over the list of certified devices, it appears that the only certified engine controller device is that used by Bombardier in the E-TEC. There are no other outboard engine controller devices on the list of NMEA-2000 certified devices.

Based on some photographs I just saw, it looks like the Lowrance NMEA-2000 digital gauges are being re-badged and sold as Suzuki-brand gauges. This is much the same sort of re-packaging that Bombardier has done with the Lowrance gauges, too.
I'd say that the LowranceNET style of NMEA-2000 network wiring is on its way to being the de facto standard in small boats.
