I just noticed this recent addition on the NMEA organization list of certified products.

EP-20 Suzuki Engine Interface

The EP-20 Suzuki Engine Interface adapts any of the following DF series engines from Suzuki to the NMEA 2000® network; DF40, DF50, DF60, DF70, DF90, DF115, DF140, DF150, DF175, DF200, DF225, DF250, and DF300. The EP-20 Suzuki Engine Interface connects to the Suzuki Engine are [sic] represents it on the NMEA 2000®, outputting engine parameters such as RPM, Trim, Fuel Flow, Engine Hours, Pressures, Temperature, Voltages, etc.
Certification Level: B
Software Version:1.2.0

This is somewhat of a curious announcement. The SUZUKI engines themselves are not listed as being NMEA-2000 certified devices. Perhaps the Suzuki motors are NOT NMEA-2000 compliant, but Lowrance has figured out how to interface to them and convert the Suzuki data into NMEA-2000 compliant data.

Looking over the list of certified devices, it appears that the only certified engine controller device is that used by Bombardier in the E-TEC. There are no other outboard engine controller devices on the list of NMEA-2000 certified devices.

Based on some photographs I just saw, it looks like the Lowrance NMEA-2000 digital gauges are being re-badged and sold as Suzuki-brand gauges. This is much the same sort of re-packaging that Bombardier has done with the Lowrance gauges, too.

I'd say that the LowranceNET style of NMEA-2000 network wiring is on its way to being the de facto standard in small boats.
