I searched Garmin's web site and could not find a definitive answer to this question.

I have Garmin 140 fishfinder (transducer part#010-10435-00) and an older Garmin GPS162. This takes up quite a bit of valuable real estate on my cc. If I decided to upgrade, and save space at the same time, by purchasing a Garmin Chartplotter/Sounder combo what Garmin Chartplotter/Sounders will be able to use the existing transducer (part#010-10435-00). I'm trying to avoid the labor of running another transducer cable thru the hull.

I have read some where that the new Garmins use new transducers. I don't remember where I read this.

Attaching a light line to the old transducer cable, then pulling it out will give you what you need to attach the new cable to and pull it trough.

I had a similar situation. I called Garmin service and they were able to answer my questions.

Thanks. I planned on calling Garmin but it's Sunday so I thought I'd see if any continuouswavers had any first hand knowledge.

Thanks again,

Seth
