While synchronizing my Mercury SmartCraft [digital instrumentation] I keep having to go back to factory default just to get the basics. Any clue to get the advanced settings? The boat needs to be on trailer. Help please!

I would hope that the instruction manual provided by Mercury with their SmartCraft instrumentation would provide "any clue" necessary to operate them, however, in the past people have often inquired about the interpretation of some of the messages from the instrumentation, leading me to wonder if the instructions provided by Mercury are comprehensive.

I am afraid I cannot offer any advice, but, if you will indulge my curiosity, exactly what sort of procedure is this synchronization you are trying to perform?

Thanks Jim, I am trying to get everything from speed, depth, mpg, water temp, oil pressure, distance gallons/per/hour. Now I only get the basics-like trim, rpms.
I am not very technical. I have used the Merc Guide but when I calibrate everything becomes uncalibrated. It shows 4500rpm @ idle. Complete trim tilt etc.

If a master reset does not help, try asking on the Veradoclub website. I recently had a Smartcraft outage that was thankfully due to a bad battery connection. The Mercury user manual is woefully inadequate, IMO.
