Is it possible to mount an 8' whip on the console without interfering with the Bimini top? |

Here is a recent thread about VHF antenna's on Montauks. Most of the information is the same for the Dauntless 160: http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum6/HTML/001356.html I've only had my Dauntless 160 for a few months. I installed my radio when I was trying to get ready for the Northern California rendezvous. I already had a rail mount so I installed the 4' digital antenna on the starboard rail that goes around the stern seats. I did it because it was easy and quick. I don't really like it there because of fishing and it is close to the swim ladder. I was wondering if one could snake a cable up the tunnel for the gas tank vent on the port side. If you could snake the cable to the inspection port in the pilot seat storage you might be able to make the console. You could then install the antenna on the the end of the bow or side rail or the top of the gunnell. I haven't tried it yet. Doug |

Three-foot whip, mounted on the port side of the console. I'm not entirely happy with it since the tip is pretty close to my eye level. I added a ball on top to help prevent accidents. Otherwise, the performance seems good, and the installation was trivial. -Bob |
