I was looking over my Garmin chartplotter and depthsounder unit, the final item to be reinstalled on my Boston Whaler boat. I noticed that there are tiny color coded wires labeled NMEA-in and NMEA-out. Could I somehow tap into the new NMEA-2000 system I have already setup on the boat? |

George, it's mostly likely the older 183 standard. It won't pair with the new 2000 standard unless you have a converter. So far the only company making them has pushed back their production date. |

Working great. The only issue is with my Navman that seems to be taking the slow road to death. The E-Tec is humming along, took it in for a software update and a once over. The only problem with the EMM is, it will tell on you, no more looking at your mechanic and promising you didn't redline the engine. |

George, keep an eye out for http://www.actisense.com When they finally finish the NMEA gateway product (NGW-1) it should do what we are hoping, basically translate between NMEA183 and NMEA 2000. |
