An installer [gave] his opinion, [that an AIRMAR B260 SONAR transducer is too big to be installed on a Boston Whaler 320 OURAGE]. [The installer] said he would [install an AIRMAR B260 SONAR transducer on a Boston Whaler 320 OUTRAGE] but with no warranty. He said [installation of an AIRMAR B260] will degrade the [Boston Whaler 320 OUTRAGE] performance, and it is very tough to get the install exactly right on a [transducer] that big. I need to decide to keep the 260 or go with a smaller unit within a couple days. [Seeks help making this decision.] Thanks all.

I recommend you contact Boston Whaler and ask their opinion. The Unibond hull construction used in a Boston Whaler 320 OUTRAGE provides for only a limited area in which a through-hull transducer can be installed. The location and size of this area will be important factors in the consideration and choice of a SONAR transducer.
