Garmin 240 FF For Testing

I've already purchased a new Humminbird fish finder, but I still have questions about my old Garmin 240. The unit was running great, had a lot of detail, and would even show your line beneath the boat. The reason I ended up pulling the unit out was it stopped showing the bottom. I have a feeling that the transducer quit on me but I have no way to test it. I contacted Garmin who suggested I find someone with a similar unit to run the test on. After talking with everyone I know who owns a boat, I didn't find one person who had a Garmin--even my brother's bass fishing club, not one member!
I'm asking to ship my fishfinder to a forum member and asking them to just plug in my fishfinder for a few minutes the next time they go fishing to test if it shows bottom. Then just send it back to me.
I ordered a Garmin replacement but found out it wasn't going to be in in time for me to install it before I was heading out fishing. Anyone want to lend a forum member a hand?
Thanks. I know this is a strange request but if this unit still works, I'dm like to use it as a back up. The jury is still out on my new Humminbird!

I have the Garmin 240 Blue with the dual 50/200 transducer. I'll be out fishing twice before the end of the month and can help out. Email me for my address.
